January 21,2017 Saturday, capped off a sweet moment in Rotaract Manila history with the celebration of its 16th Charter Anniversary, aptly named Sweet Sixteen. Held at One Pacific Residences in Makati, the event brought together Rotaract Club Members, new and old, past Rotaract Manila Presidents, Members of friendship clubs and sister clubs, would be members, friends, families and loved ones.

The Sweet Sixteen party focused on giving thanks to triumphs, talents, and hopes of everyone for the club. Ronnel Deinla, Asst. Director for Club Services, thoughtfully pieced together snippets and pictures of the journey of the AllStar team for the past six months- outreach, fellowships, meetings, projects and some light hearted moments to look back on. Afterwards, Michael Recabar and Raymond Sasutil, Club Vice President and Club Treasurer respetively, gave a brave performance of the Man Who Can’t be Moved to which the audience could not help but to sing along to.

The talent fest continued with 16 members of the club including the current roster of officers, showed their moves on stage and gave their best dance steps for the rest of the crowd to follow. The likes of PP’s JM Cuales, Ralen Jimenez, and DRR Cassandra Camille Martino shared their gift of dance with ASP Kristine Karen Reyes closing the dance with her dance steps to Jai Ho. Lastly, 16 dear friends, family and loved ones each proposed a toast for the club’s future endeavors, further growth and continuing longevity. The latter was cemented with the induction of a new member to the club near the end of the program.

All in all, with the inclusion of the sweet cotton candy being handed out in the event, the Party was a sweet success and milestone for the club. The newly elected directors and executive body of the club, determined immediately after the event, stand hopeful for a 17th year of great fellowship through service and many more to come.
